Original Abstract

Thermal stress is the type of mechanical stress created by the change of the material temperature. This stress can lead to plastic shape deformation, fracture, crank and other deformation, which are depended on others variables of heating. For lithium ion batteries, this thermal stress can cause them to "inflate" and consequently cause their irreversible degradation. As the sources of heating, the external temperature, internal and external short circuit and bad discharge profile, can be.
