Original Abstract

The paper describes an experiment focused on determining how the composition of concrete affects its dynamic and static modulus of elasticity. The modulus of elasticity is one of the crucial properties of concrete, since it affects its other important parameters, such as creep or shrinkage, which in turn determine how a concrete element or an entire structure behaves. For the purposes of the experiment, small concrete blocks were made, differing only in cement and admixture content. Core specimens were drilled and their modulus of elasticity measured. The values were then compared with values written in the standard ČSN EN 1992-1-1 (Eurocode 2).
