Original Abstract

This contribution presents a design of an arc welder supplied with a LiFePO4 battery. Battery pack dimensioning and thermal design is described. Further the BMS circuits are introduced. The DC/DC step-down converter representing the core of the welder circuitry is explained in principle including the topology and the schematics of the power circuit. Finally the topology of the control circuits is presented. The current control loop and power control loop is introduced.
