Original Abstract

In a lead-acid cell the active materials there are lead dioxide (PbO2) in the positive plate, sponge lead (Pb) in the negative plate, and a solution of sulphuric acid (H2SO4) in water as the electrolyte. A chemical reaction proceeds place between lead plates and sulphuric acid, producing electric current. When the charge is depleted, the battery can be recharged many times. This article deals with optimization of the shape of lead acid battery grid by discharging process using numerical simulation.
