Original Abstract

This paper introduces novel high-accuracy method for volumetric measurements of soft tissues, which is more accurate compared to present commonly used standard methods in medical domain. First part deals with summary of today's standard methods with focus on its accuracy, then principles of the new method are discussed and its accuracy is presented. Finally, the novel method is compared with standard ones. Accuracy de ning equations are experimentally veri ed in the last section of this paper. The method is based on capturing 3D model of patients body using Robotic 3D Scanner followed by computing of volume or surface area. Besides the high-accuracy of measurement, such 3D model is usable for many other purposes, like monitoring of recovery process, ergonomic splint manufacturing or inammation detection.
