Original Abstract

The paper deals with a statical analysis of structures created from recycled polypropylene blocks. These structures are used for building detention reservoirs for the temporary retaining of downpour water from larger surface areas, in municipalities. It was tested if the values declared by the producer are in compliance with the standards and will correspond to the carrying capacity of blocks during the whole service life, as well. There is an assumption that the requested carrying capacity will be decreased during the time. This could be caused by the influence of stress according to the plastic block properties. The problem was solved by the ANSYS program system. The solution shows that the carrying capacity of the block with the layer of soil and traffic loading does not correspond to the declaration of the producer already before the end of the common service life of the structure.
