Original Abstract

Tento článek se zabývá problematikou pasivní optické přístupové sítě EPON (Ethernet Passive Optical Network) a jejím měření v laboratoři optických sítí na ústavu telekomunikací VUT v Brně. Nejprve je rozebrána teoretická stránka sítí EPON a její popis. Dále se článek zabývá měřením pasivní infrastruktury. Jsou zde popsány možnosti měření přímou metodou i OTDR.

English abstract

This article deals with passive optical access network EPON (Ethernet Passive Optical Network) and the laboratory measurement of optical networks at the Institute of Telecommunications BUT. First is described the theoretical aspects of EPON networks and its description. The article deals with the measurement of passive infrastructure. There are described the possibilities of measuring the direct method and OTDR.
