Original Abstract

The aim of the present work is to provide an efficient numerical framework for studying the interplay between the statistically and deterministically introduced length-scale. This paper gives an outline of adaptive nonlinear FE-algorithm focused on applications where the damage evolution gets driven by spatial variability of material properties at some length scale.
