Original Abstract

This paper describes the architecture of a passive network monitoringadaptor dedicated to 10 Gbps technology. The proposed adaptor is ableto produce statistics of input data flows, provide deterministic andstochastic packet sampling and search for specified patterns in packetsbodies - payload checking. The architecture is designed for an FPGAplatform and is composed of several cooperating application specificprocessors and control units. This paper presents and evaluates thefirst implementation of existing hardware.
