Original Abstract

To propose a relevant model af damage and fracture of multilayer pipes the value of stress intensity factor corresponding to a crack propagating through the pipe have been estimatedin dependence on the thickness of individual material's layer and their material properties. Special attention was devoted to the case of a crack touching the interface between pipes. It follows from the results obtained that the crack growth can be strongly influenced by the existance of an interface between pipes. To calculate the stress and strain distribution finite element method has been used.
