Original Abstract

The objective of the paper consists of theoretical prediction of radiative heat transfer in arc plasmas of air at various temperatures and pressures assuming LTE. Main radiation quantities, namely radiation intensity, flux density and its divergence, will be determined in cylindrical arc plasmas. As a mathematical tool for the radiation field prediction, method of partial characteristics will be used, which is capable to describe simultaneously both radiation emission at the central parts of the plasma and absorption at the outer cooler regions. Special attention will be devoted to the contribution of molecular species to the total absorption and emission, respectively.
