Abstract

The module is a key component of an fiber optical angular rate sensor operating on the principle of the Sagnac effect and is used for electrical processing of signals from the optical detector and generation of modulation signals for the piezoelectric phase modulator. Closed-loop control makes it possible to compensate for the nonlinearities of the fiber optic architecture and the electro-optical components used and to achieve a larger measuring range. The control is supplemented by an estimator of the sensor model parameters and thus enables greater stability of the resulting parameters of the entire sensing system.
