Abstract

Central under-fuselage airbag designed specially for VTOL vehicles with ram air filling valve. Here, in the first phase of the project, an analysis of the possibilities of implementing passive safety elements was performed in VTOL-type vehicles (currently a very dynamically developing category of personal aerial vehicles for urban and suburban transport). The output was a conceptual design of a central under-fuselage airbag, which appears to be the most reliable and efficient in terms of power / weight ratio. In the final phase, a functional sample was created by sewing a reduced version of the airbag with verification of the functionality of the valve for inflating the airbag after its initial inflation by means of a gas pyrogenerator.
