Original Abstract

Food security and climate change mitigation are both significant challenges for the near future. Greenhouse gas abatement, the utilisation of renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, and waste recovery represent the main pillars of sustainable development. Food industry deserves innovation in forming a sustainable food system, including sustainable food production, sustainable food processing, storage and distribution, sustainable food consumption as well as food loss and waste prevention.
