Original Title
Advanced Control Algorithms for Six-phase PMS Motor with Segregated Windings
English Title
Type
Functioning sample
Abstract
Realized functional sample is composed from six-phase PMS motor with segregated windings (developed in 3Ccar project as a powertrain for fully electrical vehicle), from voltage source inverter, testing dynamometer and from developed advanced control and compensation algorithms. The control algorithm contains several parts which ensure precise motor control. In addition to the conventional blocks commonly used in the vector control algorithm structure and the energy optimal motor control mode when the maximum torque to ampere (MTPA) curve is followed, the decoupling block is an important and crucial part. It is in use when only one three-phase subsystem is actively running. The second subsystem is due to a malfunction either disconnected or it is switched to active short-circuit (ASC) mode. In both cases, an asymmetry given by segregated winding nature appears and causes torque pulsation. The proposed compensation strategy significantly reduces these torque pulsations. The control and compensation algorithms were first tested on the motor model in the environment of MATLAB Simulink and then tested at a dynamometer test bench.
