Abstract

Time Domain Printed Circuit Board Solver (TD-PCBS) analyzes multilayer printed circuit boards (power-ground structures) in MATLAB. It is using a hybrid computational method that combines a Time-Domain Contour Integral Method (TD-CIM) with the circuit simulator ngspice. The user defines shape of a structure, excitation and other simulation parameters. TD-CIM computes voltage responses at ports within each layer. These responses are used to make transfer functions using Time Domain Vector Fitting (TD-VF). Another program module creates electric circuit using own device model computing convolution of the transfer function with the electric current. Capacitors are modeling capacities between port vias and their neighborhood. A KiCad project is created alongside regular spice source file (*.cir). User can modify automatically generated schematics by himself (i.e. add own parts).
