Original Abstract

The shrinkage process in cement based materials is still an actual problem of civil engineers and manufacturers of cement based composites, such as concrete, mortars, floor compounds etc. There are many standardized and non-standardized testing techniques which are used for estimation/determination of real value of shrinkage process during the whole time of material ageing, unfortunately the results are often inconsistent, especially because of different measurement equipment, dimensions of the test specimens and initial time of the start or evaluation of measurement. There are also incomplete experimental data of early-age volume changes, which can be used for numerical prediction models. The article focuses on the implementation of the experimentally obtained data to the shrinkage model B4 designed by research group of prof. Z. P. Bazant. The results show that especially the early-age part of real-measured shrinkage process does not correspond with the prediction model. In order to improve the correlation between the measured process and the prediction model, it is necessary to adjust the existing correction factors.
