Original Abstract

In the field of civil engineering a diagnostics acoustic non-destructive testing is widely used and in the past years finds application even in testing of high-temperature degraded concrete structures. This article is focused on nondestructive testing by Impact-Echo method, ultrasonic velocity pulse method and destructive testing of hightemperature degraded concrete test beams of dimensions 100 × 100 × 400 mm fired at 200 – 1200 °C. Three different concrete mixtures different in used fraction of coarse aggregate from quarry Olbramovice were tested. Measured changes of physical-mechanical properties are supplemented by X-ray diffraction analysis of reference and fired sets to document changes in mineralogic composition in tested material. These measurements conducted under the basic research aims to better understand the changes in thermally degraded concrete and to clarify the changes in NDT measurements with actual mineralogic changes observed by X-ray diffraction analysis.
