Original Abstract

Experiment is the oldest method of learning natural patterns behaviour. This is mainly expresive in geomechanics where despite the most modern numeric method experiment keeps its place. Generally true and mathematic accurate geomechanic problem solution is far away and each experience gained theoretically or experimentally is only a small but essential step to new knowledge. The paper describes the results from laboratory tests of reinforcement soil - unpaved layers. Main aim of laboratory tests is monitoring of strain in geosynthetics. The secondary aim was determined the procedure to glue strain gauges to polypropylene geosynthetics. The welded geogrid was used and was instrumented by strain gauges. The experiment was realized in cooperation with Transport Research Centre, Brno.
