Original Abstract

The paper describes a solution of HW realization of IP phone using new modern processsors. For realization of IP phone we can use one processor system. In this case the processor has to support both Ethernet interface and voice signal processing. HW design of single processor IP phone solution is not very complicated but designed device is fixed to network wall socket. Today’s trend is to ensure user mobility. According to this fact, a two-processor IP phone is most suitable. One of these processors provides a connection to local computer network. The other one operates in a handset. It processes a speech signal, controls a keyboard, display etc. A wireless connection between the processors (between the base station and the handset) can be realized by the Bluetooth technology, for example.
