Original Abstract

Detailed risk identification, analysis and assessment are an inseparable part of risk management, which aims to identify all threats which could affect the function of a business and the processes taking place there. The impact of the risks related to the business operation may significantly affect not only the business itself but also its sur-roundings. The objective of the management is then to minimize the risks. These issues may also be related to determining the extent of potential damage, which may be determined using a combination of risk and forensic engineering methods. Application of risk analysis methods in this case may be used not only as prevention but also to receive a quick response to an undesirable situation which has arisen, in order to prevent the consequent danger. The aim of this paper is to propose and apply selected risk analysis methods in order to identify and minimize damage caused by risks related to corporate processes. Focus will also be given to the assessment of unpredictable risk, which may have fatal consequences for the business, so-called black swans.
