Original Abstract

Research projects in the area of financial management of holdings deal mainly with transfer pricing, an overall assessment of mergers and acquisitions and valuation of concerns. The research was performed at holding companies (parent companies) and selected subsidiaries. The research was carried out in two stages. The first stage consisted of a questionnaire survey. The second stage consisted of meetings, interviews, phone and email communication with representatives of the holding companies. The research identified the reasons for the creation of a holding, and the advantages and disadvantages of a holding with an emphasis on cash management.
