Original Abstract

Flame tracking is interesting in study of flame-wall interaction. Based on flame area, stretch angle and flame thickness the wall influence on flame can be evaluated. Tracking is based on effect of different density of particle count in unburned and burnt gases. Particles are recorded with devices for high-speed Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) i.e. high speed CMOS camera and high-repetition rate, diode-pumped Nd:YLF laser. Flame front is recognizable in PIV images and the key task is to detect it automatically with image processing tools. Interaction with the wall and light ray bending due to hot burnt gases near wall makes the task more challenging. This paper presents procedure for entire flame front tracking which utilizes generally available image processing tools e.g. Python libraries. Several issues in measurements are highlighted and its solution or elimination is proposed.
