Original Abstract

Engineers are increasingly being asked to monitor or evaluate the efficiency and the performance of a structure for an assessment or for consinuously monitoring. Therefore appropriate measurement devices have to be used. However, measurement data has to be accurate, which means that an objective method for assessing data quality and measurement uncertainty is needed. Results are often derived from the combination of values determined from a number of individual measurements. Those individual measurements can be a set of deterministic or stochastic values.
