Novel route of reactive sintering towards high entropy ceramics and composites

Duration: 1.3.2023 — 28.2.2024

On the project

The project aims to explore a new route of preparation of high entropy ceramic materials by reactive spark plasma sintering. The novel preparation route will involve mixing a high entropy alloy with carbon from two different sources in order to prepare a high entropy carbide. Mechanical properties of the resulting carbide will be measured and an evaluation of the microstructure and phase analysis will be conducted.
