On the project

Bioceramic materials are usually used in regenerative medicine for their biocompatibility and bioactivity. Tailored microstructure and porosity of bioceramic scaffolds play also a crucial role in tissue regeneration. In this study, freeze-casting will be used as a shaping technique. We aim to characterize the in vitro behaviour of calcium phosphate freeze-cast scaffolds with tailored microstructure. The influence of the size of interlamellar spaces on the infiltration of various cell cultures will be examined and discussed.
