Proposed project TN01000029/20 “Smart Monitoring Data Exchange Technologies for Aircraft” (SMoDETA) deals with an important aspect of rapid and efficient exchange of information for smart aircraft systems. Although several widely used standards for transport category aircraft exist for transfer of information within the aircraft (and its sub-systems), i.e. ARINC 429 or 629, there is no single and widely used standard for data transfer from aircraft to ground facilities for the purpose of maintenance and logistics. There are several standards used by airliners, i.e. within ACAIRS system etc., however these are not truly widescale systems for more aircraft categories. At the same time, new technologies (like new satellite networks, or 5G cellular networks) can bring significant advantage for the developed solution.
