Open Access publishing with Elsevier
Tokens can be used only for journals ranked in quartiles Q1 and Q2 according to the JCR subject category evaluation based on the AIS metric.
- Brno University of Technology (VUT) subscribes to journals published by Elsevier, and submitting corresponding authors may therefore take advantage of free Open Access publishing of a limited number of articles (using tokens).
- Eligible journals: Core Hybrid. Gold Open Access and Cell Press titles are excluded. (seznam)
- Publication types: Case Report, Data in Brief, Full-length Article, Microarticle, Original Software Publication, Protocol, Review Article, Replication Study, Short Communication, Short Survey
- Process: After your article has been accepted for publication, you will receive an email as the corresponding author with a link to the so-called Post-Acceptance Author Journey (the post-acceptance process for authors). During this process, you will be asked to review and confirm your affiliation details, which are crucial for verifying author eligibility. We also recommend using your institutional email address.
Based on the provided information, you will be shown the available publishing options, including the possibility of publishing under a transformative agreement. After selecting the Open Access option, you must also choose the Creative Commons (CC) license under which the article will be published (in the Select your user licence section – we recommend using the CC BY license). Once the license is selected, your part of the process is complete.
We will then verify whether the author and the article meet the conditions for using the benefits of the concluded transformative agreement. After approval, you will receive an email confirming that the Article Processing Charge (APC) is covered. If the request is rejected, you will still be able to publish either traditionally (behind a paywall) or in Open Access mode by paying the APC. - For further information, please contact the library at openscience@vut.cz.
