Fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering

Type Bachelor's Form full-time Degree Bc.
Language English 1. round from 1. 11. 2025
  • The basic condition for admission to study in a bachelor's study programme is obtaining a secondary school degree.
  • Another condition for admission to study is to achieve knowledge of English at the level of at least B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).  Applicant provides an international certificate as Cambridge B1 Preliminary, Cambridge B2 First, IELTS level 5 or 6, TOEFL 42 - 71 or 72 - 94. Applicants may also demonstrate their knowledge by providing a certificate from their secondary school or university confirming that the instruction was conducted in English. Applicants from countries where English is an official language automatically meet this requirement.
  • The entrance exam is written and it consists of Mathematics and Physics test. It may be waived  if one of the following conditions is met: placing in the top 50 % in the National Comparative Examination (SCIO) in General Academic Prerequisites Test (GAP) or in Mathematics in 2026. To apply for a waiver of the entrance exam on the basis of successful completion of the test, request must be uploaded in the e-application form.
  • The applicant is also obliged to submit, no later than before issuing the decision on admission to study, an officially certified copy of the document of the completed secondary education.

  • The basic condition for admission to study in a follow-up master's study programme is obtaining a university degree.

  • The Applied and Interdisciplinary Mathematics programme is a double degree and takes place in English at the BUT Brno, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and at the University of L'Aquila in Italy. 
  • The applicant must be enrolled at BUT Brno, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering or at the University of Aquila, Italy in the academic year 2025/26.
