FaVU-B4M3-LAcad. year: 2023/2024
Painting Studio 3 builds on the historically proven experience of teaching painting in an academic environment, while reflecting contemporary thinking and being open to the multitude and interconnection of art forms and media. The key to develop the potential of the students is an individual approach to each one and working with the specifics of their creative thinking. In an open and critical dialogue, students are encouraged to reflect on their artistic expression and to develop it through their own research, deepening their theoretical knowledge, and experimenting with the forms of painting and other media.
The teachers assume independent creation of the students, based on their own inspiration, which they motivate both by recommendations and observations, as well as by assigning specific topics for processing. Students are encouraged to self-discovery and to understand the connections between their work and current events in their immediate surroundings, in the art world and in society. The diverse experiences, points of view and opinions that freely and respectfully meet in the studio become the basis on which future independent artistic practice can be built.
Students are motivated to expand the field of their creative research and to evaluate the quality of its results, including their potential to become a basis for a thesis art project. Gradually, they will specify its topic, find the most appropriate creative form and proceed it.

Syllabus
The regular presentation of one's work, together with related topics, in group consultations helps learners to formulate their own artistic stance, while encouraging openness, understanding and respect for other views and attitudes, which form the basis of a mutually enriching discussion.
Individual consultations with supervisors will allow for a more thorough reflection of the emerging work, mapping the possibilities of its development and setting a specific direction or topics for processing.
Classes include visits of exhibitions, artist talks and group critiques with guest artists, theorists and other professionals with relevant and inspiring practice, and joint training in the form of a workshop or plein-air session.
