(PR, Brno, Sept 29) Simply creative – this is the motto of a new collaboration that connects the city of Prostějov with the Faculty of Architecture at Brno University of Technology (FA BUT). Starting Monday, October 6, 2025, an outdoor exhibition entitled Designs for the Chateau – an exhibition through the eyes of students of the Faculty of Architecture at BUT – will be accessible in the courtyard in front of the Prostějov Chateau. This unique presentation was created as part of a partnership launched earlier this year and will now be formally confirmed with the signing of a framework agreement on long-term cooperation between the city and the faculty.
The opening of the student design exhibition will take place on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. Prior to the official opening, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., there will be an accompanying program with quizzes and tasks for children and adults, which will present the exhibition to the general public in an entertaining way.
The exhibition will run until December 7, 2025 and will showcase bold student concepts of two new guided tours – Along the Golden Ribbon and The Illusion of Money and Plenty of Time. These designs not only make the Prostějov Chateau more accessible and attractive to the public but also combine respect for history with a modern educational approach. They thus bring fresh impulses and ideas for reflecting on the future use of one of the city’s most significant historic landmarks.
“The students’ designs are not only bold visions but also a valuable source of inspiration. They show how historical buildings can be brought back to life and integrated into contemporary urban life. The partnership with the Faculty of Architecture opens the way to further expert projects, and I believe that together we will find the best ways to bring this idea to fruition,” said Deputy Mayor Jiří Rozehnal.
“Developing partnerships with municipalities and raising awareness of topics related to architecture, urbanism, and the built environment in general is one of the key missions of universities in the so-called third role. That is why I am very pleased to have the opportunity to cooperate with the city of Prostějov. I appreciate the trust and support I feel from the city and the mayor, and I believe that our cooperation will bring many original ideas for the development of the city of Prostějov,” said Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at BUT Radek Suchánek.
