Jaroslav Koton has been elected as the candidate for appointment as dean of the FEEC at BUT

The term of office of the current FEEC BUT leadership will conclude in January 2026. With this date in mind, the Academic Senate announced during the autumn the election of a candidate for appointment as Dean for the upcoming term February 2026 – January 2030. Two candidates ran for this position: Jaroslav Koton and Tomáš Kratochvíl. At its meeting on 9 December, the senators decided in a secret ballot and elected Jaroslav Koton. He received 11 votes from the nineteen senators present. The elected candidate must still be appointed to the position by the Rector of BUT.

He emphasises closer links with industry so that students gain real-world experience, stronger international cooperation with concrete benefits for the faculty, and the use of the reaccreditation process to modernise and streamline teaching.
