FFA art symposium will connect its students and graduates

Brno will once again come alive with art. From September 8–21, 2025, the third edition of the art symposium Rooted Everywhere will take place in the industrial complex Distillery and the FFA Gallery, focusing on meetings and collaboration between students and alumni of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Brno University of Technology. The event will feature a panel discussion and a vernissage of the created works.

The Rooted Everywhere symposium is organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts of Brno University of Technology in cooperation with the všuderajče collective. Its aim is to create new, often intergenerational, connections among artists and serve as a space for sharing experiences, opening new dialogues, and fostering artistic collaboration among people from the same educational institution.

The collective also seeks to open discussions on topics such as collaboration, collective practices, and principles of non-competitiveness. “This year’s symposium will be attended by 45 artists, who again emerged from an open call and were divided into 6 creative groups based on shared thematic areas,” explained members of the všuderajče collective.

This year’s edition of the symposium, traditionally held at the Distillery complex on Pekařská 78, will take place in two phases for the first time. The first week will be dedicated to intensive collaboration within author groups and joint internal creation of artworks. In the second week, September 16–20, a public accompanying program will be held, offering a panel discussion, workshop, and the launch of the new FFA semester — New Season 2025.

The culmination of the joint work of FFA students and alumni will be a vernissage presenting the created artworks. “The vernissage will take place on Wednesday, September 17, but the exhibition will remain open to the public until September 20. Visitors will also have the opportunity to engage more closely with the exhibited works and the symposium concept during two guided tours,” said representatives of the všuderajče collective.
