Brno University of Technology will host the Czech Academic Games in 2026
In 2026, Brno will once again become the center of university sport. Brno University of Technology (BUT) will host the 24th Czech Academic Games from 21 to 26 June, the largest multisport event for university students in the Czech Republic. Teams and individual athletes from across the country will compete in twenty sports disciplines, and the campus will come alive with a competitive atmosphere and sporting enthusiasm.
The Czech Academic Games represent a national inter-university student competition regularly organized by the Czech Association of University Sport in cooperation with universities in the Czech Republic. The next edition will be hosted by Brno University of Technology.
At the largest student multisport event, 20 sports will be featured, and in each Czech Academic Championship (AMČR) students from across the country will measure their strengths.BUT Rector Ladislav Janíček and Chair of the Executive Committee of ČAUS Ivana Ertlová met and signed a memorandum defining cooperation and procedures for preparing the Games.
“I was very pleased with the meeting with the newly re-elected rector and his approach to supporting physical activities and sport within BUT. I believe that the university will prepare excellent Games, which it will organize for the fifth time,” said Ms. Ertlová, Chair of ČAUS, after the meeting. More information will follow soon.
Last year, the Czech Academic Games were held in Ostrava. BUT was represented by more than 100 athletes, who won 37 medals and finished fifth overall.
