Modern powertrain development is characterized by a massive increase of computational simulations. Computational models are more complex and enable to include many physical phenomena, however, measurements are still fundamental parts of the powertrain development. This paper presents the comparison of experimental and computational modal analyses. The modal analysis results can be subsequently used for a set-up of a single valvetrain model. All measurements and computations are performed on in-line four-cylinder diesel engine
