Today, lightweight concretes represent a group of multifunctional materials that can be used in the field of civil engineering in cases where we need to combine more favourable properties in one material layer. In the case of lightweight concretes (LC) and ultralight concretes (ULC) based on foam glass, it is mainly a combination of good thermal insulation and mechanical properties, as well as lower weight (compared to conventional dense concrete). The contribution deals with the possibilities of using ULC based on lightweight aggregate made of foam glass in the field of civil engineering, especially in the field of floor structures. These are ULCs with bulk densities in the hardened state in the range of 470 to 600 kg/m3, which were produced using various types of microfibres based on secondary raw materials. The developed ULCs then have mechanical properties in the range of 0.85–1.81 MPa (in the case of compressive strength) and a coefficient of thermal conductivity in the range of 0.101–0.121 W/(m·K).
