Originální abstrakt

Among the many substances that currently pollute drinking water sources are also various metals and their compounds, some of which are quite harmful, not only to human health. In order to compare the selected sorption materials for removal of selected harmful metals from water, a laboratory experiment was conducted. Filter columns filled with selected sorption materials GEH and Bayoxide E33 were used for experimental comparison. The metal cations of arsenic, nickel and lead that were added to the tap water for the experiment were removed from water by sorption. During sorption, water samples were taken at 1, 2, 4 and 6 minutes after the start of the experiment, in which temperature, pH and turbidity were determined directly in the laboratory, and then they were sent to the laboratory of the Health Institute based in Ostrava for determination of the concentrations of individual metals. From the results of the analyses it could be observed that both materials removed metals below the limit values set by the decree. Both materials achieved high efficiencies close to 90% and Bayoxide E33 was evaluated as the more suitable material based on several criteria.
