Resilient City Logistics and Supply Chains for Sustainable Competitiveness in the V4 Region (Project ID: 22530356)
The project Resilient City Logistics and Supply Chains for Sustainable Competitiveness in the V4 Region focuses on a systematic analysis of structural weaknesses, adaptive capacities, and resilience mechanisms of urban logistics systems and supply chains in the Visegrad Four countries.
In the context of recent global crises, including the COVID-19 pandemic, geopolitical conflicts, and the increasing frequency of climate-driven extreme events, urban logistics is proving to be a key determinant of economic stability, service availability, and the sustainable development of cities. The project responds to the need for a deeper understanding of the factors that influence the ability of urban logistics systems to prevent disruptions, absorb shocks, and adapt to changing conditions.
Methodologically, the project combines qualitative and quantitative approaches, including structured interviews with key stakeholders, comparative analysis across V4 countries, and analytical procedures supported by data-oriented and digital tools. Emphasis is placed on international comparability of results, identification of transferable examples of good practice, and formulation of recommendations relevant to strategic planning and public policy-making.
The main contribution of the project is the creation of an integrated analytical framework for assessing the resilience of urban logistics, linking academic research with the practical needs of public administration and regional actors. The project thus contributes to the development of the knowledge base in urban logistics and supply chain management and supports the sustainable competitiveness of the V4 region in the long term.
Project objectives
The main objectives of the project are:

to analyse key factors of vulnerability and resilience of urban logistics and supply chains in the V4 countries,

to identify examples of good practice and innovative approaches supporting the sustainable competitiveness of cities and regions,

to strengthen international cooperation between academic institutions and regional actors,

to support knowledge transfer and capacity building in urban logistics, risk management, and crisis preparedness,
-
to contribute to the development of recommendations for public policies and strategic planning.
