From 20 to 25 April 2026, the Faculty of Chemistry is hosting an international Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) focused on circular economy and sustainability in the food industry. Lectures taking place during the week are also open to interested students and staff from the Faculty of Chemistry.
The BIP brings together experts and students from FCH BUT and five European universities to jointly explore innovative approaches to sustainable food systems. The programme aims to integrate advanced methods of food quality assessment, circular economy principles, and modern biotechnologies in order to support sustainable food systems, efficient resource use, and innovation in food production and processing.
The on-site phase at the Brno faculty was preceded by an online programme comprising introductory lectures and preparatory work on practical projects, which student teams will tackle in person in Brno.
This faculty BIP follows on from last year's programme held at the Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto in Portugal (Technologies towards circular economy and environmental sustainability). Other participating institutions include the Universidade de Vigo (Spain), Wrocław University of Science and Technology (Poland), Poznań University of Life Sciences (Poland), and Odisee – University of Applied Sciences (Belgium).
The full programme, including open lectures (Monday 20 April, Tuesday 21 April, and Thursday 23 April) and speaker profiles, can be found here.
