From September 20 to 26, 2026, Brno University of Technology (BUT) will once again take part in the European Sustainable Development Week (ESDW) – an international initiative that connects thousands of events across Europe each year with the aim of bringing the topic of sustainability closer to the public in practice. This year's program extends beyond the main week on both sides, spanning from September 18 to October 8. This shows that sustainability at BUT is not a matter of a single week, but of topics that faculties and university units address on a long-term basis – not only in teaching and research, but also in operations, community life, and open collaboration with the public.
Organized by: BUT Sustainability Centre and facultiesPublic eventThe exhibition offers a clear, data-based view of what a low-emission future for the Czech Republic could look like. It is based on the Czech Decarbonization Atlas and shows where greenhouse gas emissions currently arise and which specific technologies and practices could significantly reduce them. The key message is clear: solutions already exist today – and implementing them does not mean sacrificing prosperity or quality of life. Visitors will gain a realistic picture of how economic development can be combined with a responsible approach to the environment.
The traveling exhibition will be on display at the following faculties:
