Obtaining more detail knowledge in problem of design of metal or timber structures directed to the theme of diploma project. Elaboration of the seminar work to the theme of diploma project. Requirements for the elaboration of the diploma project.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Student will learn and get under controll aims of the course within the meaning of upgrading knowledge in the field of design and realization of metal, steel-concrete and timber structures and bridges, especially with the respect to problems in the connection with the specify topic of diploma project.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of the design of members, components and connections of metal and timber structures. Principles of structural mechanics, elasticity, strength and plasticity, which necessary for the complex design of steel, steel-concrete or timber structure. Basic principles of structural dynamics.

1. Project task. 2.-4. Geometry and composition of a structure, variants of the structural and static solution, preliminary static design. 4.-9. Work on the project: modelling, static solution, dimensioning. Consultation with Diploma´s thesis supervisor. 10.-11. Work on the project: structural detailing, drawing documentation. Consultation with Diploma´s thesis supervisor. 12. Completion of the project. 13. Presentation of the project.
