Introduction into typography. Fonts, special characters. Plain typesetting. Implementation of special characters in computer systems. Character styles and their use in connection to typographic rules, emphasizing, mixed typography. Paragraph typesetting. Paragraph styles and typical properties. Enumerated and itemized lists. System of titles. Tables and vertical justification. Pictures and schemas. Math (physical and chemical) expressions and formulas. Rules and implementation. Page elements, page layout on paper sheet, running heads, two-sided document. Optical page justification. Table of contents, indices, cross-references. Rules and implementation. Document layout. Theses, rules, recommendations, specific properties.
