The content of the course is to introduce students to the field of public law. Students will be gradually introduced to the different branches of public law, namely constitutional, criminal, administrative, construction, trade and tax law, including their interrelations.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will know the theoretical background and the resulting positive legal regulation. They will acquire the institutes of public law, which is the subject of focus. They will be able to understand the legal standards in terms of their systematic arrangement, they will understand the basic legal terminology and will be able to use legal terminology in the application necessary publiclaw standards as in other related legal and economic subjects and in their future professional practice.

Students must be aware of basic legal concepts.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Lectures consist of an explanation of basic principles, methodology of the discipline, problems and their solutions.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

No credit is given. Therefore, the same conditions apply to ISPs.
The exam is in the form of a written test with closed questions. Knowledge of the material covered is tested. Classification is carried out in accordance with the directive of the Faculty of Business at the BUT. A minimum of 50% of the points is required to pass the examination. Participation in the examination is compulsory.

1. Fundamentals of constitutional law - Constitution, subjects of constitutional law, constitutional relations, stability and dynamism of the Constitution
2. The Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms - fundamental rights and freedoms, inalienability, inalienability, non-expireability, irrevocability, Schengen area
3. Criminal law, Criminal Code - criminal offence, retroactivity, criminal liability, facts of criminal offence, perpetrator
4. Criminal law, Criminal Procedure Code - criminal proceedings, presumption of innocence, persons involved in criminal proceedings, guilt and punishment, main trial, evidence, detention
5. Offences - offence, sanctions, block proceedings, injunction proceedings
6. Administrative Procedure Code - administrative proceedings, filing, time limit, administrative authority, service of process, decision, execution
7. Review of administrative decisions, right to information - appeal, appeal, appeal, retrial, self-medication, review proceedings, right to information
8. Judicial review of administrative decisions - administrative action, cassation complaint, cassation principle
9. Building Act - zoning proceedings, building proceedings, zoning decision, zoning consent, zoning planning, approval for occupancy
10. Real estate cadastre - immovable property, plot, land, registration in the real estate cadastre
11. Trade business - bound, licensed and free trade, establishment, responsible representative
12. Tax system and tax law - tax, tax construction elements, taxpayer, taxpayer
13. Tax Code - tax procedure, assessment of tax, assessment of tax

Aims

The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the systematics and individual branches of public law. Students will be gradually introduced to the basic institutes of constitutional, criminal and administrative law, including misdemeanour law, building law and tax regulations. Upon completion of the course, the student should be able to navigate these branches and solve basic problems.
