Professional Experience

FP-UopxKAcad. year: 2021/2022

The objective of the course is to verify student’s theoretical knowledge acquired in the basic courses of his/her major in the form of a placement in industrial and administrative organizations. Obtained knowledge and information are base for processing bachalor thesis.
The total extent of the professional experience is 200 hours. Before commencing the experience a contract on professional experience must be concluded with the entity in which they will work.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Student is given possibilities to apply the theoretical knowledge to specific tasks under industrial conditions. He/she will be made familiar with particular problems that may be chosen as objectives of his/her bachelor thesis.

Prerequisites

The course is a follow-up to all completed courses related to the economic areas – accounting, law and taxes.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.
Professional practice serves to deepen the knowledge and skills acquired through study and verification their application in practice also serves to update knowledge and familiarity with the methods of work especially in institutions outside the university,

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The course-unit credit is awarded on condition of having submitted written reports in size of 10 pages.

Course curriculum

Describe organization structure in the selected firm (organization), eventually describe relation to the higher organizational unit.
Describe the information system of the firm and information flows.
Evaluate information technologies used in the firm (hardware, software, data files, information connection, data protection etc.)
Analyse strengths and weakness firm with regard to entrepreneurship.
Consider possibilities and opportunities with regard to entrepreneurship.
How does the company financing work? Indicate basic financing arrangements.
What kind of problem does the firm have in daily operations most frequently ?
Describe in detail your daily working activities in the firm.
Specify the objective of your bachelor thesis.
How can you benefit from the placement when working out your bachelor thesis?
List at least 10 information resources related to the topic of your bachelor thesis.

Aims

The course is focused on verification of the theoretical knowledge applied to concrete conditions of entrepreneurial sphere or legislative environment. Students should apply general methods such as observation, comparison, and analogy and using them work out a written report according to the assigned task.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Students will be given individual assignments, which state the name of the organization, responsible person in the organization, and the contact to this person. Student’s placement in the organization may be inspected by the tutors who can contact the responsible person
