Original Abstract

The paper provides a comprehensive introduction to the principles of RFID localization. Most of the techniques are based on the fusion of several information, such as range, direction-ofarrival, and propagation characteristics. Positioning and localization is a common topic, widely discussed also in the areas of radar systems and wireless networks. On the contrary, distance and angle estimation is very specific to RFID backscattering principles and the research in this area started in recent years.
