Original Abstract

This paper summarizes the main results of a study aimed at determining the change in the application and setting a line protection for the overhead line with inserted underground cable. The study considers the situation of a cable inserted in an overhead line that is protected by surge arresters at both ends and is subjected to various type of fault. The model of MV distribution network was created in the EMTP ATP program for the analysis of this situation with respect to the real network conditions. There is possible changes in the protection applying and setting are brought on in the conclusion of paper.
