Original Abstract

This paper describes the design of a higher-order analog filter with differential input and output current followers. Prototypes of these active elements with improved internal structure are ready to be manufactured. The filter design method starts from a passive RLC prototype and leads to a structure that is similar to leap-frog topologies, but it implements also transfer zeros. As an example, a fourthorder Cauer low-pass filter is designed. PSpice modeling confirms a correct functionality of the filter at high frequencies. Computer simulation is also used to analyze the influence of active element real properties and of passive element tolerances on the frequency characteristics of the proposed filter.
