Original Abstract

We have tested samples from magnesium composites by nonlinear ultrasonic spectroscopy. The samples were fixed on ultrasonic actuator and sensor of acoustic emission by beeswax. The contact quality or defects in sample structure are changing the coefficient of vibration damping. The coefficient of vibration damping is given by width of resonance curve. If we damage the sample, the damping coefficient increases so that width of resonance curve increases too. On the other hand with higher defectiveness of the sample the higher harmonics components are increasing. In this paper, we are investigating the width of resonance curve for three samples from magnesium composite for different exciting frequencies.
