Original Abstract

Modification of a surface by creating an aligned array of nanostructures can by advantageous in any application in which the surface area shall be as large as possible. Electrochemical microsensors can achieve higher sensitivity if their sensing elements are enlarged by nanostructures. The nanostructures can be created by a number of ways but one of the most simple and low-cost technologies is electrochemical deposition of a metal into a nanoporous template.
