Ve stavebních objektech se mohou vyskytovat poruchy, které mají svůj původ v dobře prostudovaných příčinách. S jejich odstraněním byly získány mnohé zkušenosti a pozitivní výsledky. Existují však také závady, jejichž příčiny se objasňují obtížně a odstranění není možné, neboť byly zasaženy plastickými deformacemi s výskytem trhlin a zlomů. Při průzkumu a posléze zahájené opravě smuteční síně v Brně-Židenicích byla v roce 2013 objevena porucha mramorového obkladu. Projevila se jeho obloukovou deformací, což je v české odborné literatuře ne příliš frekventované téma. Přitom se jedná o jev známý více než sto let. Tento příspěvek o něm přináší několik základních informací.

Buildings may experience defects that have their origin in well-studied causes. Much experience and positive results have been gained in their elimination. However, there are also defects whose causes are difficult to clarify and elimination is not possible, because they were affected by plastic deformations. During the survey and subsequent repair of the funeral hall in Brno-Židenice, a defect in the marble cladding was discovered in 2013. It manifested itself in its arcuate deformation, which is not a very frequent topic in Czech professional literature. This is a phenomenon known for more than a hundred years. This article provides some basic information about it.
